"Slam-Dunk" Oscar Role for Kristen Stewart

Actors hone their craft, take on daring roles, and push the boundaries in hopes to be seen and accredited by their fellow peers. The highest honor for an actor is to be recognized by The Academy Awards and given an Oscar.

Actors dream of Oscar-worthy roles and one actor/director thinks he has this role for Twilight beauty Kristen Stewart.
James Woods is a legendary actor who has earned two Oscar nominations, six Emmy nominations with two wins, and in 1998 received his Hollywood Star on the Walk of Fame. Woods is working on his new project An American Girl and wants The Twilight Saga: New Moon star Kristen Stewart in the lead role. Claiming this would be "a slam-dunk Oscar" for Kristen Stewart, Woods is holding out, not willing to give the role to anyone else.
The film An American Girl follows the life of a young woman who is at the crossroads of her life. After the glory of high school days dwindle, the young woman finds herself slipping into bad habits and drowning in her dead-end town. On a whim, the young woman decides to join the Marines and her life begins to slowly change. The young Marine is accepted into the Linus Program where she begins to excel and find her place. Her world is shaken when tragedy strikes and she must return to her hometown that was the root of her demise before entering the Marines.

After buying the script, Woods decided he wanted Stewart as the lead for this part, claiming that it would be a slam-dunk Oscar for the actress. When Woods approached Stewart, it was pre-Twilight and the actress seemed down for the role. Woods spoke with ComingSoon.net about the conversation he had with the actress stating, "telling her that he wouldn't make the movie with anyone but her, and since reading the script, Stewart has been urgently wanting to get the movie made."
So what do you think, is this a good role for KStew? We say yes!
