Sundance Screams for Stewart!

Who's tired of waiting for Sundance? Well the day is finally here! The 2010 Sundance Film Festival has officially started up in Utah! For all you excited indie-flick fans, be sure to check out Sundance 2010's official website http://festival.sundance.org/2010/ to order your tickets! Top films including Howl, Blue Valentine, and The Company Men are selling out by the minute. Throughout today until the end of the month, there will be some very hot stars heading down to Utah for the festival! Stars already confirmed include: Katie Holmes, Dakota Fanning, Gossip Girl's Chace Crawford, Mad Men's John Hamm, Jessica Alba, Emma Roberts, Kate Hudson, and the list goes on!

On top of that list includes Twilight's leading lady, Kristen Stewart who has not only 1, but 2 highly anticipated films rolling out this week! Stewart's already sold-out film The Runaways is set to start airing today at Sundance. Fans have been excited about The Runaways ever since filming started last summer when Kristen chopped off her locks in a 70's mullet and dyed it black to match the rocker look of Joan Jett. Also starring in the film are Dakota Fanning and Halloween's Taylor Scout-Compton. The 70's biopic is about Rock Legend Joan Jett and her all-female rock band, struggling to get noticed in the music industry while facing some very harsh rejections. Directing for the first time, Floria Sigismondi made sure that The Runaways will be like no other "getting famous" film, with the help and inspiration from Joan Jett herself.

Also getting a lot of buzz is Jake Scott's Welcome To The Rileys. Stewart stars along side Emmy Award Winner James Gandolfini and Academy Award Nominated Melissa Leo.
With critics raving about her moving performance already, audiences will see a new side of Kristen in this dark and quirky film where she plays Mallory, a troubled young prostitute who surprisingly helps out an elderly couple struggling with the death of their own daughter. This film has been on top of critic's list as a must-see! Perhaps Oscar-worthy? You be the judge!

With having two more Twilight films ahead of her and being nominated for BAFTA's rising star award, 2010 is turning out to be a magnificent year for her. For more Kristen, check out her other upcoming indie-flick The Yellow Handkerchief, also starring Academy Award Winner William Hurt, Golden Globe nominated Maria Bello and Eddie Redmayne.
