Samuel Goldwyn Films is partnering with Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group to release "Welcome to the Rileys," starring James Gandolfini, Kristen Stewart and Melissa Leo.
Goldwyn will theatrically distribute the film this October in the United States and Sony will handle ancillary rights.
"Rileys" played at the Sundance and Berlin festivals this year will screen at the Los Angeles Film Festival on Friday.
Pic, directed by commercials and video helmer Jake Scott, centers on a married couple who have grown apart since losing their teenage daughter eight years earlier. The husband, while on a business trip to New Orleans, meets a 17-year-old runaway and the two form a platonic bond.
Michael Costigan, Giovanni Agnelli and Scott Bloom produced with Ridley Scott, Tony Scott, Steven Zaillian, Ken Hixon and Manny Mashouf exec producing. Hixon ("Inventing the Abbotts") wrote the screenplay.
Goldwyn's "Harry Brown" is current in release and it's set to open "Mao's Last Dance," directed by Bruce Beresford, on Aug. 20.
