Kristen Stewart admitted to being nervous by being a part of the cast of the film On The Road, adapted from classic literature beat On the Road, Jack Kerouac. The star plays Mary Lou, literary version of LuAnne Henderson, wife of writer Neal Cassady.
In an interview with MTV U.S., the actress, known for her role in the Twilight saga, commented on the responsibility to join the team of actors in the film directed by Brazilian Walter Salles and said the experience on set was amazing. "Everything was the way I wanted it to be," she said. "It exceeded all my expectations. It was fun and wild. We did not know what to expect every day."
She said she felt intimidated in certain visits made by biographers and writers who knew the charachters, like Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg and William S. Burroughs - greats of the Beat Generation. "There are people who lived it, then we end up feeling like, 'God, I hope they do not think they're just stupid kids doing this movie," blurted the actress.
Kristen and her co-stars were living during the four weeks, near Salles, studying the history of these renegade artists. Besides Stewart, Garrett Hedlund, Kirsten Dunst and Sam Riley are also in the movie. Filming will take place by the end of 2010, in the United States (in the cities of New Orleans and San Francisco), Mexico and Canada.
