You might have been shocked to hear your two favorite young actresses were getting busy on the big screen, but Dakota knew it was all part of a hard day’s work! Making out with another girl isn’t an everyday occurrence for real-life homecoming queen Dakota Fanning, but she was pretty game to make out with pal Kristen Stewart for their upcoming Joan Jett biopic The Runaways. Why? She knew it was the next step in her already thriving career, a source tells HollywoodLife.com. “There’s all that buzz about the kiss, but Dakota felt fine doing it,” our snitch says of the much-hyped lesbian love scene. The part of Cherie Curie, Joan’s lover, is an, um, interesting choice for the 15-year-old actress, who has so far played a brat (Uptown Girls), a vampire (Twilight Saga: New Moon) and a psychic (Push). But Dakota is willing to take the risk for her art. “This was something she wanted to do. It shows a different side of her,” says the source. If Dakota is going for edgy, she’s definitely already done it right. Her 2007 film, Hounddog, stirred up more than a little controversy since it showed the then 13 year old in a rape scene.
The Runaways most likely won’t be stirring up quite so much commotion, but we’re sure fans will line up anyway to see Dakota and Kristen kiss, especially all you Twi-hards. Just a warning: You’re going to see your favorite Volutri and Bella Swan appearing in a whole new light!
