The buzz on Kristen Stewart

Her name is everywhere - and it's not always because of some fabricated wedding or pregnancy rumor, either.
Lately, the buzz on Kristen Stewart has been ultra positive, and - to pay homage to those with nice things to say - here's the low-down on who's talking Kristen Stewart.
First of all, Celebreality and former America's Next Top Model star Adrianne Curry had a few things to say about the stunning Stewart via Twitter recently. In her tweets, she went back and forth with some of her own followers to say things like "She is young, beautiful," and that you don't "have to love being famous to love acting." More on that is available here.
Secondly, a very lovely run-down on five reasons to love Kristen Stewart was issued by PopStar recently, where they state that "Whether she is cracking jokes in interviews or dropping trophies at award shows, Stewart is never afraid to let her inner goof shine through which is really spectacular." They also point out the somewhat obvious fact that Stewart is "strong-willed and focused on her beliefs." The full list is available here.
Stewart's The Twilight Saga: New Moon co-star Charlie Bewley had an interview recently with Hollywood.com where he talked about Stewart, hitting the nail on the head with some rationale as to why she happens to not be the fame-banging attention . . . . well, you know. Said he,
I think she could be a lot like Bella. She doesn’t want too much attention, and she picks her friends wisely and she’s someone who just wants to do her work. Not everyone is going to be like Jamie [Campbell Bower] or me or someone who loves this whole attention thing and laps it up and sees it as a life experience. Some people are more reserved, just ‘I just want to keep myself to myself and do my thing and sorry if I can’t give all of my energy to you.’
Screenstar's Colleen Joyce, when recounting some of the background information on Stewart's next endeavor, K-11, had some kind things to say about both Stewart and her co-star Nikki Reed as well. Said she,
Both Reed and Stewart will play men in this film which is a far cry from their flawless beauty depicted in Twilight, a bold and brave move for both these rising stars that has always been willing to take on the controversial roles and push their acting limits. Don't be surprised to see these ladies February 2011 on the red carpet of the Oscars looking to pick up some gold!

Team 411 takes on Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett in 'The Runaways'
As a new feature to this column, the popular Twitter duo "Bestie" and "411" of KStew411 will be presenting intermittent opinion pieces on the current exciting goings-on that surround Kristen Stewart at any given moment. Fans know that Stewart is currently working on The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and filmed The Runaways (a biopic wherein she portrays Joan Jett) this summer.
So, in this piece, entitled "Portraying Joan Jett is the kind of role young actresses dream of" or, perhaps better dubbed, "Why Kristen Stewart totally needed the mullet," the subject of the efficacy of Stewart's new haircut for the film is tackled, KStew411 style. Take a look.
A popular topic of conversation around gmail the Team 411 office is Kristen Stewart’s dedication to her craft and the roles she takes on. At only 19, she has already worked with Jodie Foster, Robert DeNiro, Meg Ryan, Sharon Stone, James Gandolfini, and Donald Sutherland. She’s been directed by the likes of David Fincher, Jon Favreau, Sean Penn, and up-and-coming names like Greg Mottola and David Slade. Sure she’s talented, and yes, she has a reputation for being very professional. But a big part of what makes her so in demand is her pure dedication to delivering her best each time she goes in front of a camera. In 2002’s Panic Room, Kristen’s character suffers diabetic shock. In 2007’s The Cake Eaters, she plays a teen dealing with a rare degenerative nerve disorder. Her resume is loaded with characters that made physical demands on her, roles that were comprised of making we the audience believe she suffered. Kristen has always been lauded for her ability to communicate her character’s experiences in such a physical way.
So who was really surprised when she cut her hair into a mullet and dyed it jet black in order to play Joan Jett?
Apparently a lot of people were, and still are, shocked by this decision. I guess it’s because I am a fan of Kristen first, and Twilight second, that I completely understood her decision. Did it make me want to run out and get a mullet? No. Did I admire her dedication to such an important role? Yes.
Because let’s face it. Portraying Joan Jett in a biopic about legendary teen punk rockers The Runaways is a big deal. I’m not sure Twilight fans really understand this. Every time pictures of Kristen out with the Joan-hair surface, or in Bella’s busted wig for Eclipse, someone feels the need to tweet at me, Why did she do that???!!!1 why couldn’t she wear a wig for runaways? Bella’s supposed to have pretty hair!!!1!! Isn’t that kinda the point, though? Joan Jett is punk rock. Punk rock is about rebellion. What’s more rebellious than an up-and-coming actress cutting off her pretty-girl hair for a mullet? It’s pretty much the biggest [middle finger] Kristen could give to the idea of being just another cute starlet on the cover of a magazine.
And look, I get it. For Twilight-first fans, Bella is more important than Kristen. And I also know not all Twi-fans feel that way, but I still hear this, months after she cut her hair, and it still bugs everyone on Team 411 to hear it. Examining Kristen’s resume, it’s pretty clear that a project like The Runaways is more indicative of the sort of long-term career Kristen is establishing. Yes, Bella is the role that made her world famous, but it’s parts like Joan Jett that will cement her reputation as one of the finest actresses of her generation.
Portraying Joan Jett is harder than bringing Bella to life. Why? Because Joan Jett is a real person. A real person who is still alive. Who was on set nearly every day of filming. Let’s think about that. You’re in a movie, playing a legendary rockstar. Said legendary rockstar is not only alive and producing this movie, she’s on set damn near every day, looking over your shoulder. No pressure, right? When filming one of the Twilight movies, Bella Swan is not sitting behind the camera, watching Kristen’s every move. Kristen did a number of things to make the role of Joan Jett her own. She wore a pair of Joan’s old shoes, had one of Joan’s old guitars. She learned how to play and sing a number of The Runaways’ songs. But at the end of the day, she said it was cutting her hair into Joan’s famous mullet that made her feel like Joan. No one berates Nicole Kidman for wearing a prosthetic nose as Virginia Woolf in The Hours, and people applaud when actors like George Clooney and Matt Damon gain weight for roles. Christian Bale has made his career in chameleonic physical changes. Yet when a nineteen-year-old girl gets a bad haircut so she can play a 1970’s era punk rocker, the world derides her decision and makes fun of her for it. I say we stand up and cheer for Kristen’s decision to wear bad hair for months on end in order to be as realistic and true as possible in her role.

New Moon Soudtrack iTunes Pre Order launches with Anya Marina Instant Download and Lupe Fiasco Bonus Track!
The iTunes preorder for The Twilight Saga: New Moon Original Motion Picture Soundtrack launched today with 4 exclusive bonus songs, including an original song from Lupe Fiasco entitled ‘Solar Midnite.’ 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn' wedding explored
It's not even a confirmed film, and fans are already imagining what The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn's wedding would look like. One creative photoshopper took the time to bring to life his or her own visions of what said occasion would look like in these photos by adding Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson into a few wedding portraits.
The idea of the Breaking Dawn wedding has been a topic of discussion for some time now.
When the thought was passed around that perhaps, if The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn were not going to be made into film, the wedding could take place at the end of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, fans were none too pleased with it.
Of course, since then, fans have pushed for Breaking Dawn to be made as the closing to the Twilight saga films - some with the continued and ardent assertion that The Twilight Saga: New Moon director Chris Weitz should become the director of the project - and a little wedding dress project that came along did little to quell those discussions.

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart Rock 'N' Roll At Vancouver Party

Twilight stars (and rumored lovers) Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were spotted together at the Players Chophouse in Vancouver, Canada Saturday at a private party that featured up-and-coming bands Bleeding Horse Express, Captain Dust, and 100 Monkeys.
Pattinson and Stewart, onlookers said, arrived at the party together, but left separate. RPattz was snapped leaving a cab with a hoodie covering his famous tussled hair.
Other Twilight cast-members in attendance at the shindig included Ashley Greene, Xavier Samuel and Jackson Rathbone.
Eclipse hits theatres June 30, 2010, but as Twilight fans know, the highly-anticipated second installment in the Twilight series, New Moon, hits theatres November 20, 2009.
Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner to attend Knoxville premiere of 'New Moon'
At least one source is reporting that The Twilight Saga: New Moon's sub-premiere (as the official premiere will take place in Los Angeles, of course, on November 16th) in Knoxville, Tennessee on November 17th will be attended by Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.
The showing is meant to benefit a local children's charity, and a drawing/lottery will be held for the opportunity to purchase tickets for the event this October. According to the same source, those selected to have the opportunity to purchase the tickets will have to have $100 for each of the two potential tickets on-hand, as this is the cost for general admission to the event.
More information about that is available here.

Bella's New Moon Ornate Floor Mirror

"In behind-the-scenes photos from the upcoming and highly buzzed New Moon, Bella Swan's bedroom boasts a fancy ornate wooden floor mirror, in addition to beautiful flocked bedding.
Another photo from the set suggests that it may actually be a mirror that attaches to a dresser.
But for the sake of the illusion, I hunted down a similar ornate wooden floor mirror for you."
The Isabella White Cherval Floor Mirror ($749) is nearly an exact replica with a turned wood base and filigree at the top. If you'd prefer something more affordable, the PBteen Lilac Floor Mirror ($199) is similar in style, although it is rounded.

'New Moon' products make an appearance in theaters already

It's less than two months until The Twilight Saga: New Moon hits worldwide theaters, and the theaters are already prepping for the release.
A blogger at Twifans.com found that AMC Theaters was already placing New Moon promotional items such as these cups (which feature Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner) and Vitamin Water ads in their locations.
Fans had already reported seeing posters for the film in theaters quite a while back, but with theaters selling out tickets like hotcakes this early in advance, it is probably not surprising that they'd also be readying and presenting their promotional materials as well.

'Twilight' making an impact on this year's Halloween costumes

Twilight has become the biggest fan phenomenon to hit North America since Lord of the Rings, and people are excited about dressing up as their favorite Twilight character this Halloween. Contact lenses in special designs, and colors help take a costume to the next level and are used frequently by Hollywood blockbusters such as X-Men, Star Wars, Harry Potter and Twilight.
"Twilight is a popular request this year. Everyone wants to be Edward or some type of Vampire and the key costume piece for a vampire is the eyes. People are really having fun with it- blood red eyes, vampire dark purple, or Edward's amber colored eyes. When you put a pair of these SFX contact lenses in, it really changes the way you look." added Harvey.
As the vampire theme heats up this year, setting your self apart from the crowd has become easier with Coastal Contacts new Twilight inspired lens, hitting stores just last week. Most of their Special Effects contact lenses are available in prescription powers, for people who need vision correction, and all lenses from Coastal Contacts are FDA approved. The contact lens industry isn't the only one preparing for a spike in Twilight-related costuming this Halloween.
