On Tuesday, December 11th, 2012, Impulse Records/Verve Music Group will release the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack to On The Road, the IFC and Sundance Selects film adaption of Jack Kerouac’s iconic novel. The beautifully assembled soundtrack album features music from the film’s original score by Grammy Award winner Gustavo Santaolalla, as well as a number of songs from a stellar lineup of Verve catalog artists including Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Charlie Parker, and more.

The details of the soundtrack album for Walter Salles’ upcoming drama On the Road have been revealed. The album includes the original score from the film written by Academy Award-winning composer Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, Babel), as well as several songs featured in the movie by Coati Mundi, Ella Fitzgerald, Son House and Slim Gaillard. The soundtrack will be released overseas next month by Universal Music France. No word yet on a US release.

'Twilight' series soundtrack musicians news round-up

From examiner: There have been a few fantastic updates in the way of Twilight series soundtrack musicians.

For starters, Twilight soundtrack co-contributor ("Let Me Sign" co-writer) Bobby Long recently played his music (song title: "Penance Fire Blues") on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. The video from that performance is attached in the sidebar. Long has been receiving a lot of attention for the release of his first proper album, A Winter's Tale, including a write-up in the Wall Street Journal. You can find out more about what Bobby Long has going on here.

Next up, Cee-Lo Green ("What Part of Forever" on The Twilight Saga: Eclipse's official soundtrack) will be performing at the Grammys. Green is nominated in several categories for his controversial (but awesome) title "F--- You." Gwenyth Paltrow will be performing with him. In January, he went on SNL during her show, and she also took his song to Glee. Note: For widespread purposes, it's called "Forget You." Videos from both of those are also attached.

Also appearing at the Grammys will be Muse (responsible for Twilight's "Supermassive Black Hole," New Moon's "I Belong to You," and Eclipse's "Neutron Star Collision (Love is Forever)"). Muse is also nominated.

Finally, Florence + The Machine ("Heavy in Your Arms" from the Eclipse soundtrack) has been announced as a presenter for this year's Academy Awards ceremony. Note that Alexandre Desplat, composer for the New Moon score, is nominated for Best Original Score for his work on The King's Speech.
