Kristen Stewart has claimed that the sexiness of vampires is connected to the way they classically inspire submission in their victims.
The Twilight actress told Metro that she was never "particularly fixated" on the creatures but that her mother dressed her as Dracula every year for Halloween.Stewart said: "Vampires are interesting; they present interesting questions about mortality. What would it be like to live forever and have that control over people?"
And what is it like to give yourself to something like that? Interesting."She added: "Classically they are meant to draw you in to the point where they have you in a complete state of submission so they can then kill you.
"So that's sexy a little bit - to give yourself to something, to completely let something take over. It's forbidden fruit, something you can’t have but just want more."Stewart described upcoming sequel New Moon as "much more quaint" than its predecessor, as well as "really tragic".
