Jacob Who? Kristen Stewart's Got Her Own Wolf at Home
If it had been up to Kristen Stewart, Bella Swan may have gone with the werewolf.
It turns out the Stewart family's pets of choice are wolf-dog hybrids, which despite their resemblance to the feral non-hybrid version are completely legal to own as pets.
"He's really sweet. He, like, falls at my feet," Stewart said of their oldest male, Jack, shown in pictures during her appearance Monday on The Late Show With David Letterman.
Let's just say, Letterman wasn't convinced, especially when he got to a shot of another one of the wolf hybrids standing outside with what seemed to be "dismembered, bloody bones" in the background.
"I can hear people picking up their phones right now, ordering wolves," he quipped.
Eventually things got a little contentious, with Letterman wondering why Stewart's mom couldn't have taken in a stray dog, then mentioning how wolf packs go around killing herds of elk in Yellowstone National Park.
"And you know what, it's such an awful thing because all of the hunters have much more of a privilege to shoot them because that's the only reason we're killing the woods, and it's awful!" Stewart said heatedly, miming a shotgun blast.
Kristen Stewart and her new hair talk wolf dogs with David Letterman
Kristen Stewart swung by David Letterman's show Monday, sporting a flirty, lighter-colored 'do and expressing an affection for wolves.
OK, wolf dogs. The hybrid kind. The kind that are legal for her mom to keep as pets, she assured Letterman -- who kept pressing.
And pressing.
"Whattya tryin' to do to me, man?" an animated Stewart joked to her host, "seriously, c'mon!?"
According to the actress -- whose most recent film, "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," premiered Thursday -- the pack is her mom's way of coping with a bit of empty nest syndrome.
"She's awesome," Stewart said of her mother. "She's just a little funny."
Who'd've thunk it ...
P.S. Ownership of first-generation wolf hybrids is prohibited in California.
