In the girl (Kristen Stewart) Emily now lives, in the middle 80s, where rock, drugs and sex was the motto of that rebellious youth, withdrawn and full of sorrows. When the family of James (Jesse Eisenberg) descends from the economic level, and he is forced to return to his old home in a middle-class neighborhood, the only solution is to pay for college next semester is to work in an amusement park. There, he meets Emily, who lives in a secret affair with a married man, but even that is able to stop the love that James begins to feel for her ... And during this glorious decade, a smart, funny and interesting flash back of 80 years, the romance of two young people deserves to have emotion and be true. It is full of wisecracking, pseudo-intellectual conversations and that silly sentimentality that warms our hearts, we mere mortals.
