About a month ago, we reported that recent violence in Rio de Janeiro might disqualify it as a filming location for the upcoming 'Twilight: Breaking Dawn' movie. The internets are all abuzz today, however, because Nikki Reed (vampire Rosalie Hale in the ‘Twilight’ films) is reported to have told HollywoodLife.com in an exclusive interview:
“They are filming a few days [in South America], but I’m not there. It’s Bella and Edward’s honeymoon.”
While the HollywoodLife quotation does contain the words “in South America,” everyone seems to be overlooking the fact those words are published within brackets, which is an indication the author has altered them. It’s a bit comical to see a publication twist such a statement and gush, “…and their Twilight co-star, Nikki Reed, has confirmed the exact location...”
Whoa! Exact? Really? Not only is the “confirmed” location presented within brackets, but South America is a pretty big place, folks! (I know, I know: celebrity reporting does seem to have its own set of journalistic standards.)
Anyway, on to the important stuff! What do you think Nikki Reed actually said? And, more importantly, where do you think the pivotal ‘Twilight’ honeymoon scene should be filmed?
Your Movie Locations Travel Examiner will go out on a limb here and choose Ilha Grande – the “Big Island” in a group of about 300 dots in the Baia de Ilha Grande, located off the Rio de Janeiro state along Brazil’s coast. This seems like a good fit since Stephenie Meyer placed the fictional honeymoon on “Isle Esme,” an island off the coast of Brazil. Besides, it looks like an inspirational sort of place that would also make an excellent movie location travel contest destination, don’t you think?
Oh, and about the image: Amazon.com is hosting a Best Magazine Cover of the Year contest, and this Harper’s Bazaar cover from December 2009 featuring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson is in the running. You can follow the preceding link to vote for it before September 30, 2010.
The video is from a Vanity Fair photo shoot that also featured the dazzling duo. It’s included here just because it's amazingly well done. Watch it, and see if you agree!
