The Twilight Saga: Eclipse: Two-Disc Special Edition
Details: 2010, Summit Entertainment
Rated: PG-13, intense action violence, sexual situations
The lowdown: The third offering in the "Twilight" series, which is being released on Saturday, finds Bella's rivals, Edward the vampire and Jacob the werewolf, uniting to protect the young woman from an evil vampire out for revenge.
This, so far, is the best film in an otherwise tepid series.
The DVD's audio and visual transfers are excellent; the colors are sharp, the sound captures every nuance.
Don't miss: A six-part making of documentary, deleted and extended scenes, commentary track, the option to watch your favorite scenes continuously and music videos comprise the extras.
Inception (Blu-ray + DVD + digital copy)
Details: 2010, Warner Home Video
Rated: PG-13, action violence, language
The lowdown: Christopher Nolan's mind-bending action thriller that explores the world of dreams and makes you ponder what is reality and what is the imagination.
This is a film you must see more than once to fully appreciate.
The three-disc set offers the film on Blu-ray, DVD and a digital copy.
The transfers for both formats is excellent; a vivid 1080p high-def picture and sharp 4.1 DTS-HD audio track.
Don't miss: Among the various extras are "Extraction Mode," in which you learn how Nolan and the cast designed and executed the movie's money shots; a look at the latest in dream research; "Inception: The Cobol Job," an animated prologue to the actual movie; a feature on composer Hans Zimmer and the soundtrack; and various BD-Live options.
Extras on the DVD include a behind-the-scenes on the creation and destruction of the Japanese castle; designing the staircase to nowhere; and the construction of the street-faring freight train.
