From welcome-to-the-rileys-saturday:
Hi, My name is Joseph, I am 17 yrs. old. My mom @TeamPattzStew and her friend @byrd009 did a lot of work to help get the word out about WTTR, and I'm so happy that my family finally got to see it!Here's my review. Please leave a comment and tell me what you think.
Welcome to the Rileys Review:
"WTTR is one of the best movies I have seen in awhile. I am usually more into action or thriller type films, but this movie grabbed my heart and held onto it all the way through. The three main actors Kristen Stewart, James Gandolfini and Melissa Leo portray their characters so perfectly that you have to remind yourself that they are acting.
Kristen plays Allison/Mallory a runaway from Florida who works in a strip club in New Orleans, Louisiana to survive. Doug Riley, played by James, first meets Allison/Mallory in the strip club after leaving his less than impressive plumber’s convention. He meets her again later in a cafe. Doug Riley's life has been turned upside down since the death of his teenage daughter, and he and his wife are both struggling to cope and allow themselves to move on with life. James Gandolfini's portrayal of a grieving father in this movie is believable beyond a doubt.
Kristen Stewart's portrayal of a 16 yr. old runaway is perfect and in my opinion, could not have been matched by any other actress from her generation. I have two younger sisters, and throughout this movie I was reminded how lucky we are to have been adopted by our mom, allowing us to stay together and not end up having to do whatever it takes to survive out on the streets. Watching the way Kristen portrayed all of Allison/Mallory's struggles and pain, seriously made me want to hug my little sisters extra tight!
Melissa Leo's portrayal of Lois a grieving mother who has closed herself off from the outside world is incredibly realistic and funny at times. The way Melissa's character Lois reacts to things outside her home, like when she tries to open the trunk of the car and adjust the seat, or when she walks across the grass barefoot honestly makes you believe Melissa hasn't been outside in a very long time.
My mom used to do foster care, and one of my older brothers was murdered so trust me when I say Kristen, James and Melissa did an outstanding job at showing all the emotions and turmoil people and families go through in situations like Allison/Mallory's and The Rileys are in.
It is upsetting to me that this movie was not shown in more theaters, because I think everyone should have the opportunity to see it, and I think it would have won many big awards if it had been promoted better by the studio in charge of getting people to take notice of this awesome movie.
If you do not already have a copy, I highly recommend you go out and pick up Welcome to the Rileys on DVD today and I promise you will not regret it!!"
