The paparazzi’s fixation with catching celebrities when they’re less than perfect has fueled America’s obsession with the idea that our favorite stars are really just like us. And to some extent, they are. A-list moms may have a staff of nannies to help out with their brood, but they still indulge in playground time with their kids or schlep to the grocery store with bedhead hair. Sure, they sound just like – except that the cameras are never too far away.
Seeing a star go from red carpet glam to jeans and a t-shirt resonates with us; it gives us hope that if we were followed by a camera crew, that we could go from everyday drab to Hollywood fab too. But perhaps seeing a celebrity in her everyday attire is what makes her very human and ultimately, just like us.
Let's face it, even stars need to relax. If your feet ache after a Saturday night out with the girls, imagine the pain after a day of filming or recording. When they’re not chasing after their children or picking up their next red carpet-worthy look from the newest designer, you can count on celebrities to slip on a pair of their cutest and comfiest sneakers.
Kristen Stewart may be the perfect example of mixing comfort and style. The Twilight star raised eyebrows when she began wearing her tattered black Converse sneakers on the red carpet, but die hard fans of Stewart knew the actress was letting her personal style shine. Stewart continues to be photographed in sneakers on and off the red carpet, here's to looking great while breaking all of fashion's rules.
